Pilgrims to the Future
We are pilgrims to the future.
God has walked the way ahead.
Together on the journey, follow Him.
He asks us to be patient –
He’s not finished with us yet.
He knows our destination – follow Him.
Though the past holds many blessings
Going back is going wrong.
Remember who we are but look ahead.
Though places can be precious
Know a building isn’t church.
Give thanks for what has been but look ahead.
The familiar is a comfort.
Staying here is standing still.
We are a pilgrim people on the move.
Standing still is not an option
Even when we feel unsure.
We must follow when God’s Spirit’s on the move
The changes in the Moon each night,
Its waxing and its waning light,
The rhythm of the tides each day
God’s perfect patterning display.
So varied, beautiful and rich,
Each creature linked, each plant its niche.
This world’s astonishing design
Of God’s abundant life a sign.
I Need You
Oh Lord, my heart cries out I need you
More than I have ever done.
Touch me, heal me, hold me, fill me,
Precious Holy Spirit, come.
I hunger for more of Your presence,
There is nothing else worthwhile.
Oh Lord, my heart cries out I need you.
Show me that I am Your child.
My child, I have a plan for you,
A place that only you can fill,
And through the blood of my dear Son
I call you now to do my will.
Release to me all that you are -
Successes and your failures too.
Be not afraid of what will come.
You are my child, and I love you.
All Things New
The gifts I give you cannot buy –
A new heart I will give to you.
Unlike the old, this cannot die.
Behold, I will make all things new.
A sail without the wind you drift.
Your spirit I will breathe anew
That my way you fly, sure and swift
Keeping the Old could not be done –
New Covenant I make with you
Based on the victory Christ won
Though sin and failure mar the past,
A new beginning comes to you
That with my power shall ever last
Behold, I have made all things new.
